Soap Saver Showcase

Hi there! I couldn't resist showcasing the soap savers I made last week. This is an offshoot of what I made which were given away for some fathers in our church two weeks ago. This was featured in my post entitled, Mommy's Choice . I thought of this idea at the sight of my husband's left-over soaps in our bathroom. With this soap saver, you can place all the left-overs inside and still use them to the last small piece. These two soap savers were featured in my previous post. The pattern for the Soap Holder Body Scrubber   is from Julie A. Bolduc of JPF Crochet Club while the Mint Soap Saver is by Priscilla Hewitt at Ravelry. I wanted to have my own so I made another Soap Holder Body Scrubber for myself. Here is what I did. I made one combining two yarns together that yielded a variegated yarn effect. See, in my excitement to use it, I already placed my soap inside but first took a photo of it hanging on our bathroom wall. Then  for Charisse, my officemate

Mango-Banana Quesadilla

I was so inspired by the Nutella Banana Quesadilla featured by Alyssa's What's Cooking, Love? Pinned and posted in my Pinterest board and FB page, I served it to my family for breakfast last month. Here's how I did it the first time.  Oh, as you can see, I substituted Nutella with fineti which Ayana, my daughter, found in the grocery shelves. Hmmm... a few peso-savings! ;) If you scroll down Alyssa's post , you will read that in my comment, I wrote, "It's a "must-make again!"  And so I did a remake of it today, with a twist, as requested by Ayana. Instead of just using banana as I did the first time, I also added slices of ripe mango.    This time, I was careful not to overfill half of the tortilla piece with Fineti  so it's cleaner the second time. AND, take note! it didn't overflow when placed on the skillet :)   Thank you, Alyssa, for sharing your recipe!!! An inspiring we

I Will Follow You

"I will follow you Follow you wherever you may go There isn't an ocean too deep a mountain so high it can keep me away. I must follow you Ever since you touched my hand I know That near you I always must be And nothing can keep you from me, you are my destiny I love you, I love you, I love you and where you go  I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow  You'll always be my true love, my true love, my true love From now until forever, forever, forever...."  I hear and sing this song loud and clear in my mind right now... can't help singing the tune after reading some posts lately and for the past months about GFC going away. I've already been following my friends in the other options they've given. Most of you have gone to bloglovin'. Here's how you, too, could follow me. Aside from GFC, yes! Mommy's Choice

This is a late post for those who might have been looking for easy-to-make crocheted gift ideas for the special men in their lives. On second thought, this is just in time for Fathers' Day, celebrated worldwide today. I've been planning to crochet some "small items" for our father friends. Small in the sense that I should be able to finish one in just an hour or less. Browsing over my electronic files and searching the net gave me these ideas --- soap saver, bottle cozy and coffee cozy. I found several patterns for soap saver so I made one for each of the patterns I like. Here they all are...
